Isn't the night sky brilliant?
It looks pretty when you look up normally with all those stars. But you miss out on so much looking up at it in town.
I went for a drive this evening out north in to the country a bit. Parked the car. Went for a wander looking up.
It's so incredibly beautiful. And so mind boggling.
We live on a tiny rock and there are so many billlions of stars and galaxies out there.
Sometimes I look up at night and it feels like there's absolutely nothing immediately above up, and I wonder why we don't all fall off.

Dear Miss Taken. We do not fall off because of the invisible pixies sitting on our heads to hold us down of course!!! I like your blog template - great minds think alike.
ReplyDeleteMiss library girl, I think you are mistaken. The pixies have nothing to hold on to, so if we fell off into the vast vacuum abyss they would go too on our heads - like fleas on a cat. That is why I always squidge my feet into the earth when I stand in a garden. Just to be sure.
